MSN is launching an in-house music service after severing ties with its current provider Nokia.
“We want to offer customers the best possible experience and in most MSN markets our new service will be provided by a Microsoft-owned platform,” says MSN.
The move is part of MSN’s efforts to take on established rivals such as Amazon and iTunes while fending off younger startups. MSN Music has grown 174% year-on-year, according to Nielsen.
