HootSuite snaps up Swift App to boost Android offerings

Social media startup HootSuite is buying developer Swift App to boost its presence on Google's Android mobile platform. Swift App developer Sebastian Delmont is joining HootSuite as a mobile adviser. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Deal Details

HootSuite builds products which allow people and businesses to manage their presences across multiple social networks. It focuses more on business use than other services such as Brizzly. The firm unveiled its Android app a week ago, enabling users to update multiple Twitter profiles, do real-time search, track keywords and check analytics for messages.

HootSuite also began offering ads in-stream through a partnership with 140 Proof. The company is planning to integrate Facebook status updates into its Android app soon.
