Apple is hiring Aware Technologies co-founder Richard DeVaul as a senior prototype scientist to work on new technologies for the company. DeVaul develops technologies that aim to predict human behaviour via sensors and data. "I'm an expert in signal processing and real-time statistical classification techniques," writes DeVaul in his blog.

DeVaul worked on a project called ‘The Memory Glasses' during his PhD, which are glasses designed to improve people's memory by around 63%. The New York Times hints he could be bringing this innovation to Apple.

Apple introduced wearable computers in 2006 via its partnership with Nike. The companies created the Nike+ line of running shoes which wirelessly connect to an iPod and track the distance and pace of a person's run.
