New iPad tops popularity polls despite heat issues

Apple's latest iPad is the most popular tablet among consumers polled by Consumer Reports, despite reports that the device was overheating last month. The findings chime with data from ChangeWave Research, saying that some 82% of new iPad owners say they are ‘very satisfied' with the device. The report claims the device is more popular than its predecessor, with 74% of those polled expressing the same level of satisfaction. The high-res retina display was the most successful addition to the latest device, with three quarters saying it is their favourite update and nearly 90% saying overheating was not a problem. Consumer Reports now says the higher temperatures, typically experienced during intense video games, are not a cause for concern to consumers.
