Sony launches in-game uploads on YouTube

Sony Computer Entertainment will use YouTube's recently released API to allow video in-game uploads on the video-sharing site. The move will allow PlayStation 3 gamers to record in-game footage and send it directly to their YouTube account.

The function will be available on all new Sony games titles, and on selected existing ones, including ‘Mainichi Issho’.

In Mar, YouTube released a new set of information to further open up its platform to developers. The move will help the video site extend beyond its homepage and interact with devices other than desktop PCs, says YouTube syndication product manager Nikhil Chandok. He hopes game developers will use the codes to make in-game video capture a standard function for new titles.
