Social music platform Last.fm is rumoured to be negotiating with Apple to have its services made available on the iPhone. A letter posted to and later removed from Wikipedia indicated that a range of third-party firms were planning to launch major iPhone applications and Last.Fm is believed to be aggressively pushing for inclusion on the device, with a recent release of a Windows Mobile-compatible version of its application indicating its desire to expand into the mobile music sector. The Macworld Expo launches next week in San Francisco and it is rumoured that Last.Fm is readying an iPhone version of its application in time for the conference. Last.fm declined to comment on any iPhone application development.
