Qualcomm is partnering with Adobe to integrate its Flash technology into Qualcomm's BREW mobile developer platform. The move is designed to let BREW developers build rich apps and content using Adobe's Flash runtime environment. The service will also be accessible to Flash developers from Adobe ActionScript. BREW Mobile Platform will offer development tools from both firms, including Qualcomm's Eclipse and Visual Studio development environments and Adobe's Flash CS3 Professional and Creative Suite 3. The integration will be completed next autumn, the companies say.
The new platform will be compatible with apps developed for previous versions of the BREW Client and open to developers, operators and handset manufacturers worldwide.
