Intelsat wins Middle East satellite deal

Intelsat General has won a contract with DRS Technologies to provide X-band satellite connectivity, fibre and teleport services in the Middle East. The services will run via the Skynet satellite fleet owned and operated by Paradigm Secure Communications. The initial one-year contract has a value of USD6.5m. If all options are exercised, the deal will be valued at USD48m over three years.

Deal Details

Under the contract's terms, Intelsat will provide DRS with a package of managed services that include an asymmetric 155Mbps satellite link, high-speed modems, ground stations, fibre connectivity and terrestrial equipment for the high data-rate X-band link.
