Google cuts another 10% of Motorola’s staff

Google owned Motorola Mobility will be making 10% of its work force redundant, with 1,200 employees losing their jobs. Google announced in August that some 4,000 jobs would be axed. The company says that these layoffs are a continuation of that policy that will see a total of 20% of Motorola’s staff cut. The news follows December’s sale of Motorola’s set-top box business to Arris and the streamlining of the company’s Korean operation, which resulted in 500 redundancies.
