Despite doom-mongering regarding the future of the publishing industry, niche publications such as The Economist are weathering the transition from print to digital relatively well. In fact, as newspaper revenues spiral downwards, The Economist claims its online and print model has actually led to a rise in print circulation over the past decade. The publication is now available online, in print and as an app for the iPhone, the iPad and devices running on Google's Android operating system. While free online new sources continue sapping newspaper revenues, The Economist's digital head Oscar Grut tells us why the web is actually boosting its business.
