Skype rules out pre-roll video ads

Skype says it is not looking to implement pre-roll video advertising as part of its push to introduce ads into its product following its USD8.5bn acquisition by Microsoft. Speaking to StrategyEye, Skype's UK product and marketing manager, Linda Summers, says that the firm instead continues to experiment with in-call advertising, though the firm has not stated publicly whether that will take the form of audio ads, or more innovative formats.
