US music streaming site Rdio is upping its competition with Spotify as it launches it service in Portugal and Spain. Making its first push into Europe by launching in Germany last month, Rdio is now active in eight countries including Brazil and Australia, as competition in the music streaming space heats up. The firm is attempting to compete more closely with Swedish firm Spotify, which has now notched up 3m subscribers, up from 2.5m in November, benefiting from its integration with Facebook.
