More than a third of the top Android developers are now making more money from their apps on Amazon’s Android Appstore than on Google’s Android Market, according to new stats from Distimo. In a study of the top 110 apps in both stores that generated at least USD200 a day during the last week in January, the mobile analytics firm found that 42 were making more money on Amazon’s store than Google’s. While Amazon’s store still only accounts for 28% of the total revenues generated by the top 110 Android apps, the figures indicate that Amazon’s app store is gaining traction amid competition from Google’s official offering and independent app store such as GetJar.
