ReDigi continues operating despite pending trial

Mp3 re-selling site ReDigi will continue operating after a court denied EMI-owned Capitol Records’ request for the service to be suspended pending legal action. The site allows users to upload purchased Mp3s for a discounted resale price, deleting the originals in the process. Capitol Records says that this process involves creating, and selling, illegal copies of mp3 files. US judge Richard Sullivan says he is likely to let the case go to trial because of the many “fascinating” technological and legal questions it involves.
