Swedish streaming service WiMP, owned and operated by entertainment firm Aspiro, may be looking to take on the likes of Spotify, Rhapsody and Deezer in the UK. The head of WiMP in Norway, Per Einar Dybvik, tells StrategyEye that Aspiro is "constantly considering" bringing its music player to the UK, but that the firm would look to establish partnerships before launch. He says that high consumer expectations driven by Spotify would not prevent the firm from bringing WiMP further west.
