Research In Motion claims its app store, the BlackBerry App World, generates more profit than Google’s Android App Market because it offers more premium apps. Speaking at the firm’s DevCon Europe conference in Amsterdam, develop relations VP Alec Saunders claims 13% of BlackBerry app developers have made more than USD100,000 from its store, which now numbers more than 60,000 apps. He adds that RIM’s store generates 40% more revenue for developers than Android Market, making it the second most profitable behind Apple’s store, as he attempts to “bust a few myths” about the state of RIM’s app ecosystem.
