Tumblr charges users USD1 to spotlight posts
Tumblr is introducing its first premium paid-for feature, a 'highlight' facility which promotes posts on the site's dashboard. Designed for enterprise accounts as well as individuals, highlighted posts can be tagged with messages including "buy this!" and "today only", as well as "LOL", "win" and "cool!" tags. Visual attention is drawn by icons including hearts and megaphones, and bigger font. To 'Highlight' a post, users make a USD1 payment through PayPal or credit card details before posting.
