Facebook is reportedly set to roll out ads on its mobile platform in March as the social network ups its focus on revenues ahead of its IPO. A Financial Times report, citing several people familiar with Facebook’s planning, claims that the social network will launch ads in users’ newsfeeds, dubbed 'Featured Stories', and is already in talks with ad agencies about the rollout. However, the move could face opposition from users, who have until now enjoyed an ad-free experience on mobile. However, Facebook is seeking to monetise its mobile presence in the same way it has on desktop, after it conceded in its recent IPO filing that it is yet to generate “meaningful revenue” from mobile.
