Outplacement solutions provider RiseSmart has raised USD2m from existing investor Norwest Venture Partners (NVP). RiseSmart uses cloud-based digital tools including search, social media, and job-matching software to offer personalised job leads, information and training to those out of work. It works with companies going through down-sizing to offer packaged solutions, claiming a job-hunting period of around 18 weeks. In the US, the average duration of unemployment is around 41 weeks. The cash will be used to expand the firm's flagship product, Transition Concierge.
