Netflix partners with eyeIO to lower bandwidth
Netflix is entering into a formal partnership with Californian video coding company eyeIO, which already lends its technology to help Netflix stream high-quality video at low bandwidth. The streaming giant is now taking out a commercial license on eyeIO's bandwidth and video coding solutions, in order to fly under bandwidth caps in the 47 countries it now serves. eyeIO's technology is available on any computer or other connected device, and can operate through the cloud or locally.
