AOL is launching a live video network this summer that will stream 12 hours of weekday programming focusing on news content from the Huffington Post (HP), with a heavy emphasis on social interaction. Currently called the Huffington Post Streaming Network (HPSN), HP's founding editor, Roy Sekoff, says the firm is appointing 100 employees to work exclusively on the network. The move comes as news organisations come under increasing pressure to deliver engaging content online.
