Google's Android is extending its lead in the US smartphone OS space, according to comScore, with devices running on the operating system accounting for 47.3% of the market in Q4, up 2.5 percentage points from 44.8% in the previous quarter. Apple's market share grew slightly more slowly in the period, up 2.2 points from 27.4% to 29.6%, boosted by the launch of its latest device, the iPhone 4S, in the quarter.
