Twitter brand pages launch in UK

Thu Feb 2 2012, 17:18 PM

Twitter's brand pages are now visible on the UK version of the site, after the firm introduced them in the US at the end of last year. The pages allow companies to customise the standard Twitter page format, most notably by giving greater prominence to logos over the Twitter timeline, and by creating a 'sticky' permanent Tweet at the top of the page. The first 21 firms to have brand pages in the US, including Pepsi and Disney Pixar, are understood to have had to commit USD2m in ad spend on the site. However, this figure has dropped as Twitter rolls out the service, with new brands needing to commit to at least USD25,000 in ad spend. The newly launched pages come from companies including Asda, Sky and Cadbury's.
