Videoplaza bags USD12m for online video ads

UK video ad platform Videoplaza has bagged USD12m in a Series B funding round led by Qualcomm Ventures and Innovacom, with participation from existing backers Creandum and Northzone. The company’s total funding has now almost reached USD18m. Videoplaza will use the investment to fund its international growth and bolster product development. The company, which says its client base now spans 17 markets, is aiming to tap into an estimated USD160bn that is being spent on TV advertising annually. Videoplaza estimates that by 2020 consumers will own more than 10bn connected devices that could be used to stream video.
