Mobile payments startup Square has secured a huge contract to mark its second year in business, with President Barack Obama's staff planning to use the service to process credit card donations on the campaign trail this year. Vendors take Square transactions using an iOS- or Android-enabled mobile device, with the free Square app and card reader installed. The system will allow staff to collect donations within crowds, rather than making people queue at donation stations.
