Luxury travel club Inspiratohas closed a USD20m funding round from Institutional Venture Partners, in a deal now valuing the company at USD200m according to Wall Street Journal sources. CEO Brett Handler says that Inspirato, which charges a USD15,000 joining fee and an annual subscription of USD2,950, generated more than USD15m sales last year. He says 2012 sales will be “more than several times” 2011 figures. The service, which targets US households with a net worth of between USD800,000 and 10m, will use the new funding to continue growing its service in spite of a weak economy.
