Barnes & Noble refuses to stock Amazon print books

Wed Feb 1 2012, 15:01 PM

Barnes & Noble (B&N) is refusing to sell books published by Amazon in its bookstores, accusing Amazon of “undermining” the industry by trying to sign exclusivity agreements with publishers, agents and authors. B&N marketing head Jaime Carey says, “Our decision is based on Amazon’s continued push for exclusivity with publishers, agents and the authors they represent. These exclusives have prohibited us from offering certain eBooks to our customers. Their actions have undermined the industry as a whole and have prevented millions of customers from having access to content.”
