IBM is buying Worklight, an Israeli smartphone and tablet software developer in an undisclosed deal, expected to close this quarter. IBM says the acquisition will allow its mobile platform to span development, integration, security and management. The firm says that Worklight will provide an open platform to help streamline the distribution of mobile apps to multiple devices as well as securing connections between smartphone and tablet apps with enterprise IT systems.
