Angry Birds creator Rovio is taking a relaxed attitude to illegal reproductions of its games and merchandise, with CEO Mikael Hed saying that the developer is learning from the "terrible ways" the music industry deals with piracy. Speaking at the Midem conference in Cannes, Hed says piracy is particularly rife in Asia, but that the company feels it is "futile" to sue.  "We have some issues with piracy, not only in apps, but also especially in the consumer products," he says. "There is tons and tons of merchandise out there, especially in Asia, which is not officially licensed products. We could learn a lot from the music industry, and the rather terrible ways the music industry has tried to combat piracy."
