ITV is testing online paywalls as part of its plans to roll-out micro payments for selected on-demand content, in a bid to diversify its revenue sources. The broadcaster is hoping to capitalise on its back catalogue, as well as foreign markets, so that it can become more independent from an increasingly volatile advertising market. The new pay system is expected to be rolled out quickly once testing is completed.
