Online customer referral platform Curebit, which provides 'share' buttons for customers to tell social media contacts about new purchases, has raised USD1.2m from a range of Silicon Valley angels, led by Dave McClure's 500 Startups. The San Francisco-based startup enables recommendations through optimising or adding plug-ins to existing e-commerce platforms, creating standalone referral pages, or one-off campaigns. Sharing news of a purchase often entitles the recipient, sharer or both to a discount on goods. Curebit will use the cash to develop its product, including the hiring of two new developers and one designer.
