Facebook has filed a lawsuit against Adscend Media, an affiliate network accused of 'click-jacking' schemes designed to scam users. Facebook say Adscend tailors itself to the social network's platforms by imitating Facebook-style images and logos, used to hide codes that begin a virus download or take the user to an external web page. During a process dubbed 'likejacking', images are sometimes superimposed onto Facebook's 'Like' button, tricking the user into promoting a rogue site to his or her contacts. Delaware-based Adscend is also accused of using phishing scams to steal users' information, or trick them into subscriptions, on Facebook and other sites.
