Mobile publisher 955 Dreams raises USD3.25m for content apps

California-based mobile publishing company 955 Dreams has raised USD3.25m in a round led by London-based m8 Capital and 500 Startups, whose founder Dave McClure will join the company's board. 955 Dreams creates interactive timeline applications, alongside its flagship app, Band of the Day, which promotes a new indie band with song samples, reviews and bios. The startup will spend the money on developing mobile magazine apps, partnering with content providers. It aims to expand to other mobile operating systems and to markets beyond the US.
