SquareTrade, a company that sells extended warranties for electronic products online, is raising USD238m from Bain Capital, in the firm’s first funding round for a decade. Although the company is profitable, funds will be used to boost marketing efforts against traditional brick-and-mortar retailers, invest in technology, and return money to early investors.
