Music piracy “halves” following streaming adoption

More than half of music listeners in Denmark, Norway and Sweden who download files illegally stop doing so once given access to legitimate streaming service such as Spotify, according to research from Norstat. The research, which was sponsored by music service WiMP, shows that there is a strong upward trend towards streaming services in all three Scandinavian countries, with 56% of Norwegians using them, surpassing Spotify's home turf Sweden, where 54% of the population stream music.
