MegaUpload competitors Filesonic and Fileserve are making changes to their sites to block file sharing beyond the original owner, after the former rival was shut down last week on piracy charges. Filesonic says that it has disabled all sharing functionality and states that its service can only be used to upload and retrieve files that users “have uploaded personally”. Meanwhile, Fileserve is running a similar message on its homepage, but currently only for US users.
