Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey believes that the site offers much more than just a social network, with the company becoming increasingly important as an information service. Speaking at the DLD conference in Munich, Dorsey claims that the three most pertinent words to describe Twitter are “public”, “real-time” and “simplicity”, portraying the company as a personal news service as much as a social network. “We definitely see social as just one part of what people do on Twitter,” he says. “We think of it as an information utility and a communications network.”
