SeatGeek partners with Hearst for ticket search

Mon Jan 23 2012, 17:25 PM

Online marketplace SeatGeek is partnering with media corporation Hearst to power ticket search on websites for metro newspapers in San Francisco, Seattle, Houston and San Antonio. SeatGeek analyses sales and pricing data to tell customers the best time to buy sports and entertainment tickets from various online vendors, and tells them which seats are 'worth' more money based on their positions. It has recently expanded into intelligent recommendation with a tool that learns user tastes. The Hearst partnership follows the New York-based company's 2010 partnership with Yahoo! to promote online sports ticket sales.
