E-commerce platform BigCommerce is launching a developers' 'competition' that aims to reward applications and integrations using its API. Its API documentation and coding samples are released to assist entrants. Winning entries will be selected on a rolling basis over an indefinite period, and will receive a share of up to USD20,000 out of a USD2m fund. BigCommerce, which has HQs in Texas and Sydney, currently integrates its efficiency platform with more than 100 applications including Facebook, eBay and Google Analytics. The company claims entrants will also benefit from the 1m visitors per day to its integration directory and open-source software page.
