Facebook's share of the UK social networking market slid fractionally to 51.3% in December, down from 52.6% in November, according to Experian Hitwise. The site still tops Experian's list of the UK's most popular social networks, but experienced an overall drop in market share of 7.21% over 2011, as newer sites such as Mind Candy's Moshi Monsters elbowed their way into the top 10. Google-owned YouTube comes second, commanding just more than a quarter of the share of visits to social networking sites, while Twitter lags far behind in third at just less than 3% of visits.
