Wal-Mart's is buying iPhone app company Small Society in an undisclosed deal, as the firm looks to build out its mobile strategy. Small Society has previously created apps for clients including Starbucks and ZipCar. Wal-Mart will roll the California-based firm's 80 staff into its Portland offices, looking to use the team's expertise to improve the mobile retail experience for customers.
