Stealth startup Grokr will launch later this month with USD1.5m funding from unspecified investors - possibly including the VC firm, US Venture Partners, which counts Grokr founder Srivats Sampath as Executive-in-Residence. The company's activities aren't yet known, although the placeholder website states that it will "unleash the cognitive web for a post-PC world." Serial entrepreneur Sampath is founder of both anti-virus company McAfee.com and music discovery tool Social.fm.
