Nokia re-enters US market with Lumia 710 on T-Mobile

Mon Dec 19 2011, 12:04 PM

Nokia will re-enter the US smartphone market in January next year when T-Mobile USA starts offering its Lumia 710 smartphone, the country’s first to run Microsoft’s Windows Phone software, to consumers. The Finnish manufacturer is targeting the device to first-time smartphone customers, and plans to sell the phone for USD49.99, after a USD50 rebate, on a 24-month contract. In a bid to smooth adoption for smartphone novices, users will get free, unlimited calls to a “concierge” line to help them set up the device. Nokia is continuing to remodel its US smartphone business under the leadership of CEO Stephen Elop.
