Dell has terminated its line of consumer netbooks, the Inspiron Minis, in a move towards “thin and powerful” notebooks and ultrabooks. The company will focus on creating extremely thin notebooks to compete with Apple's MacBook Air, as netbooks continue to lose sales to smaller devices. It is possible that either cost-cutting or the imminent release of a new product in the Mini’s USD300 to USD400 price range may have prompted the line’s termination. Dell’s business-focused Latitude netbooks remain available.
