Wed Dec 14 2011, 11:50 AM

Skype is releasing a refresh for Android around two months after version 2.5 brought video calling to handsets. The update will allow users to send photos, videos and files to friends and family directly from their mobile devices. Additionally, the battery usage of the app has been reduced, and the video quality on devices using NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 chipset has been improved, including the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Motorola XOOM and Acer Iconia Tablet. The new version will also support several new handsets, such as the HTC Amaze 4G, the Motorola DROID 4 and the Motorola DROID RAZR.
