Los Angeles startup Phorus has taken in USD2m from unnamed investors in its first funding round as it looks to bring seamless wireless audio to the home. The firm is currently still in stealth mode and plans to release its PlayCast audio system in early 2012. PlayCast allows users to stream songs over Wi-Fi to speaker systems in their home via their smartphones, tablets or PCs.
