Global revenues from digital music will increase 7% this year to reach USD6.3bn, driven by the growing popularity of online music services such as Spotify and Apple's iTunes, predicts Gartner. The research firm forecasts the online music industry will become a USD7.7bn business by 2015, while concurrently physical media sales of CDs and LPs will decline to USD10bn, a drop of USD5bn from revenues in 2010.
