Sprint is in talks with cable firms including Comcast over a potential acquisition of Clearwire to help it complete its 4G LTE network, according to three separate Bloomberg sources as demand for high speed connections soars. Sprint, which is currently the third-largest network operator in the US, could join forces with Comcast, and other firms such as Time Warner that are existing backers, to buy the remaining part of Clearwire that it does not already own, although negotiations are still in their infancy, say the sources.
