Google has bought the domain name G.co for use across all its online products in a deal reportedly worth as much as USD1.5m. Google is the latest online entity to snap up a .co domain name, which is the top-level domain of Colombia, as tech firms seek to cement their online brand identity. Twitter recently revealed its plans to launch its own URL shortcut, T.co, in an attempt to tighten its grip on the platform amid a raft of third-party clients.
