Thu Jul 14 2011, 14:26 PM

Stealthy startup Scopely, headed by Applied Semantics co-founder Eytan Elbaz, has closed a round of seed funding. Investors included Lerer Ventures, Greycroft Partners, Howard Lindzon, Terri Semel's Windsor Media, David Cohen, Dave Tisch, Gil Elbaz, and Evan Rifkin. The financial terms of the investment have not been disclosed. Elbaz declined to reveal the details on what the startup will focus on but says it will disrupt the social space that is "ripe for innovation" and will also deal with online advertising. The new capital will be used for product development and expanding the engineering team, currently made up of 12 senior engineers and product managers.
